Vista is home to many four-legged friends and their families who care for them, so we’ve put together a refresher on the ordinances and etiquette that can help keep your community’s pets and people safe year round.
Leash up
Make sure to keep your dog on a leash no more than 10 feet in length. In Castle Rock, if you are walking your dog on trails, open space, or through parks — they must be leashed.
Patio only
As much as we love meeting your furry friends, animals are not permitted inside the Vista Amenity Center or pool area (with the exception of service animals). Friendly, leashed dogs under the owner’s direct control can visit the patio.
Stay poop-free
Help keep our neighborhood poop-free. If you happen to leave home without a potty pick-up bag, there are waste stations throughout the neighborhood.
Too much noise
Consistent barking or howling is considered disturbing the peace and could result in receiving a summons from the Town of Castle Rock. If you wish to report an excessively noisy dog, you can reach Castle Rock’s Animal Welfare officers at 720-733-6063.
Registration required
Register and license your pet with the Town of Castle Rock. Town code requires that all dogs over the age of 6 months be licensed. You can register your pet through DocuPet. Cats do not require a license.
Questions?
Contact Castle Rock’s Animal Welfare Unit at 720-733-6063. In addition to noisy dogs, they can also help with animal bites, animal welfare, and pet licensing.
We hope your pets enjoy being active and integrated members of the community. Let’s all pledge to be responsible pet owners and continue to create harmony among the animals and people around us!
