Master Gardener: Concerns of Front Range Gardeners

June 13 | 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Hear from Robert Sanchez, a Colorado Master Gardener with the Douglas County Extension, present on “Concerns of Front Range Gardeners”.

This is presentation describes many of the challenges Front Range gardeners face, such as alkaline soil, frequent droughts, swings in fall and spring temperatures, and weeks of hot dry summer weather, then provides science-based approaches on how best to address these challenges. For example, learn how different types of mulch can address many Front Range challenges, including moderating temperature extremes during the winter and summer, retaining moisture, preventing weeds from germinating, and cushioning the weight of heavy winter snow to minimize soil compaction. Learn how to water more effectively in our clay soils so that plant roots grow deeper and more drought resistant.

RSVP on the Vista at Montaine app.
